New Year’s Resolutions For Sandwiched Boomers

Are you like the millions of Americans who, year after year, make New Year’s resolutions that they don’t keep? Have you made a vow to lose 25 pounds, exercise four times a week or save monthly for your retirement? Noble goals - but do you keep them past the end of January? Miranda feels physically and emotionally exhausted as the year draws to a close and vows to make some changes in the New Year. “I love my parents dearly and want to help them out as much as I can but I need to be there for my kids too. Social Rewards Of Being A C.S.I.

During the last few years, police and law-related TV shows experienced a healthy renovation thanks to the impressive success of serials that show a non-conventional side of police work: forensics. And this is the reason why they do not feel guilty when they jump to other jobs for a better pay package or better opportunities for growth.
The trend of shorter job tenure has its base in the downsizing wave of the late 1980s and early 1990s due to which many people’s expectation of lifetime employment in a single company was shattered. But several other factors have also contributed to the increase in this trend. The workers have become more confident about job-hopping due to the strong economy. Many firms have replaced traditional pension plans with portable 401 (K) retirement plans, thus reducing the financial risk of frequent job changes. The growth of the Internet has been one of the key factors of this trend, because the huge databases of jobs listed in various websites makes it […]
